Getting Started

On your road to becoming a qualified driver with a full driving licence you need to be  legal! The first thing you need is a provisional licence, here are some notes on these pages to help you with this.

Another thing you need to consider is getting the right training. I am a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (car) ADI number 289877. I’m fully qualified, and on the DSA register of approved driving instructors.

There is another type of driving instructor, trainee instructors. These are allowed to teach learners as they train and become qualified. They must display a “pink” triangular badge in their windscreen. You are in effect helping them to train (and paying for it).

If you want to learn to drive and put yourself in the driving seat and enjoy the freedom that your own driving licence can bring you. It makes sense to learn with someone who is fully qualified. It takes on average 12-18 months of training to become a driving instructor.

If the correct syllabus is followed, you will have the best chance of a successful test result.

My green badge is your promise of a high standard of tuition. It is important to learn safe driving from the start, as bad habits are hard to break later.

Using modern teaching techniques and the DSA syllabus, you can quickly and efficiently learn a very important lifeskill.

Getting behind the wheel for the first time can be a mixture of emotions; eagerness, excitement, even a little worried and daunted.

The more relaxed you are, the easier it is to learn. When you enjoy your lessons, you build up your confidence and your driving skills much quicker. A friendly, patient approach to teaching you to drive is essential. It’s important to learn to drive with an instructor you’re happy with.
